Securities Investment Account (SIA) was introduced for investment purpose in Sri Lanka for individuals and instituations.
USD, GBP, EUR, AUD, JPY, CHF, SGD, CAD, CHF, JPY, SEK, HKD, NZD, DKK, CNY
Advantages of SIA
Investments can be made in shares of listed companies, Government securities and private companies.
Category of accounts
SIA may be opened in the form of savings in designated foreign currencies.
How to get started
- Eligible Persons
- Citizens of foreign states resident in or outside Sri Lanka
- Citizens of Sri Lankan resident outside Sri Lanka
- Companies incorporated outside Sri Lanka.
- Documents required in opening an account.
- Completed application form with copy of your passport.
- Any other document relevant or as requested by the bank.
How can I make my investments in financial instruments through SIA?
Investments in Lankan Rupees or any designated foreign currency is possible in Seylan Bank and in Lankan Rupees if in government securities
Can I repatriate my investments made in Sri Lanka back to my home country?
Yes, this could be done if you have made the original investment through SIA
Are withdrawals in Lankan Rupees permitted from a SIA?
Yes, local disbursements are permitted
